Customizable PortableApps Menu?

First, I would like to say that the PortableApps Suite is a beautiful piece of work. I never imagined I would be carrying the majority of what I use on my keychain. The main problem I do have with it is that after getting all of my apps on the usb stick, I have quite a menu to scroll through to launch them. For the sake of simplicity I have switched to using PStart due to the ability to group shortcuts in a similar layout to the normal Windows start menu.
I would love to see the PortableApps menu set up to allow grouping of shortcuts, custom shortcuts (to docs/directories), and shortcuts deeper than first level.

Thanks for making such a valuable & practical tool available. It has changed the way I work with computers for the better.

Talking about christmas...

Maybe John just wants to have a happy and peaceful Easter and is planning a post-Easter App-and-Menu-release-feast/orgy for Tuesday.

Could be or he could be

Could be or he could be toying with us and everytime someone mentions PAM he secretly pushes back the release date another week.
Oops I just mentioned it again LOL Wink

you don't have the power to suspend these forums...

I personally don't like the Music, Docs and Videos shortcuts I'd like to be able to customize and/or remove them altogether. Thanks!

PAM

I would like to be able to add apps other than the portable apps as there are several programs I would like to have on my usb key beside those available here. I also would like to be able to group similar apps to keep the list from being so long.
Aside from that this is a helluva suite. It's super to be able to take it with me.

But...

The PortableApps Menu is designed to pick-up any .exe file under you X:PortableApps directory. Just go put any other portable program in its own folder under that directory and it should pick it up. It also picks up most regular programs that don´t require install.

Oh ya beauty. Didn't realise

Oh ya beauty. Didn't realise this, but I've only been using PAM for a few weeks now. It works perfectly in all 3 other apps I've tried so far. As said above, it does pick up every .exe file in those folders though, but I believe others in the forums have suggested renaming those exe's you don't want displayed. Simple enough really.

remove icons

i have Logmein in my PortableApps folder, and there's two .exe files in the folder, of which i just need one. is ist possible to remove one of the icons from the apps list? (the name has to stay, because the .exe file is needed by the other exe file.)

Beautiful, yet not very efficient

I've got too many *exe's that are functional parts of other programs that I cannot move or delete. SmitRem alone has nearly a dozen exe's it launches when you run the bat. I NEED to be able to decide what is listed in the launcher. I too am still using PStart for this reason.

It is likely beyond the scope of this launcher, but I also like to see, in PStart, what app I launched last, as it is still highlighted. I run down a list usually: Nailfix, SmitRem, CWShredder, Adaware, Spybot, etc. And since I work on several systems at once, I forget where I left off sometimes.

I can't criticize free apps though, just a suggestion. I'm still anxiously waiting for that update.

*sigh*

I understand that John is a one-man show, and that he has another life outside this site, and that the list of requests is constantly growing, and g od forbid he put out a product with the smallest of glitches or he'll get dogpiled...
... but I'm also wondering what's the holdup.
Is there anything that we could do for John to speed up, rather than bog down, the process?
