Can you get Chrome dev 64 bit in the future? And when about?
We'll eventually be switching Chrome to dual mode 32-bit and 64-bit. We won't be offering a 64-bit Dev before then as Google doesn't partner with us on the portable apps. Chrome is built to be as hostile to portability, backups, and controlling your own data as possible.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Could you give an estimate when that will happen? Will we see it in 2020? I am waiting for a stable portable 64-bit Chrome for years.
It's stable now. It's just called a test since it's not a dual mode.
Could you please explain, how can I migrate to 64-bit on the same PC, without losing all my cookies, bookmarks, extensions, etc.? I am currently on the latest Chrome Portable 32-bit. I should just copy "GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile" folder?
You'll need to login to Google and sync everything to move anything around. This is by design in Chrome. It's not like Firefox where you can move a profile to local or portable and between installs.
One more question: When 64-bit package will be combined into the main Google Chrome Portable package? You say that it will be combined in the description for quite some time now.
Personally, as priorities go, rewriting the old Chrome custom launcher that barely works and doesn't support Unicode and is only kinda portable due to the way Chrome itself is written isn't that high on the list.
