Not so hard. But NSIS is not

Not so hard.
But NSIS is not good for the first language. I recomend Java or (only because Java is not portable) Delphi / C++.

Which NSIS and which

Which NSIS and which portability are you refering to?
NSIS code is portable as long as Windows is the only target.
AFAIR NSIS IDE isn't portable, but there's a ( NSIS based Wink ) launcher.

well

portability usaully refers to cross OS capibility yes i know windows has more then one os 95,98,2000,nt,XP,vista etc. but its understoud as windows, linux, mac, bsd, etc

and how would the code be "ported" amoung windows it would be the same code its just capable to run under any version of windows running nt and 9x kernels

Delphi is FREE. Delphi Trial

Delphi is FREE.
Delphi Trial Download
The trial key is good for something like 100,000 days.

For those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.

It isn't

NSIS is the preferred language, but Delphi is very visual orientated, so it's easier to create visual things like menus.

NSIS isn't even programming

NSIS isn't even a programming language Sad
As such, even in early 70s it'd be considered orthodox.

Yebbut

It's interpreted into C/C++ so you could say that C/C++ is the preferred language Wink

Sounds interesting, can you

Sounds interesting, can you tell more?
What happens with this C/C++ code?
Is it interpreted or compiled?

BTW if I wrote a brainfuck to C++ translator, would you use it to write anything useful?

Nope

All I know is that the NSIS code is converted to C/C++.
Take a look at the source for NSIS if you want to find out.

Do you know if there's any

Do you know if there's any way to retrieve this code w/out NSIS source modification?
Or where should I look for it?

.

You'd have to get the source for the compiler and find out how each function maps to the native function.
