CPU-Z 1.92 detected as malware

My Kaspersky Total Security automatically deletes the CPU-Z Portable Installer, it says it's malware. I can't even upload it to virustotal.com, the download url is useless, nd I can't get the download url. I have been in communication with the support at Kaspersky, the original CPU-Z installer and zip package (the one does not need install) does not trigger such a response from my security software, so I assume it must be the portable apps installer part. When I try to update the CPU-Z app through the portableapps platform, I run into the same issue, in fact, that is the way I experienced the issue the first time.

False Positive

It seems that the combination of CPU-Z with the PA.c Installer is creating a false positive in a handful of antivirus engines. Kaspersky is used by a few (Zone Alarm, etc). I've submitted false positive reports to all affected except Trapmine as it doesn't work correctly.

UPDATE: Kaspersky confirmed it is a false positive and will be fixed in the next definitions update.

Thank you!

Thank you, I could not seem to get through to them, it was obviously a false positive, but the program is so strict that I could not even set an exclusion for it, the installer was deleted before I could do anything!

You're Welcome

You're welcome! Kaspersky is now cleared and all the others like Zone Alarm that use the same definitions as is McAfee.

Pro tip: There's an "Antivirus Scan" link below the download button for apps like CPU-Z that will take you to the most recent scan on VirusTotal. When there, you can click the refresh icon to have it rescan at that time to see if anything has changed and what the current results are.
