how does the platform store its database?

I'm trying to manage my collection of about 150 portable apps
OK I know I can delete them in the platform or from the portable apps folder, but I'd like to sort them by category
And deleting one at a time in the platform would be tedious to say the least.
Does anyone know how the platform maintains its database?

PortableApps Platform (Menu)

Not sure what you mean by "its database" so my understanding:

1. It's true database is all of the app folders stored on the PortableApps Folder
2. The Portable Platform (menu system) then maintains a 'reference file': PortableApps > PortableApps.com > Data > PortableAppsMenu.ini
- Open that ini file with a test editor and you will see all the listings, including how they are referenced to the categories in the menu.
3. The easiest way to delete multiple apps would be to simply use a file manager to highlight all of the top level folders for the apps you want to delete/remove and delete them (or move them out of the PortableApps Folder if you want to use a non-destructive trial approach), then relaunch the Platform or use the Apps > Refresh App Icons option in the Platform menu to refresh the menu.

deleting apps

Thanks MJAshby I've exported it to excel; now I can sort by time used and makes it easy to see what to get rid of. However, a puzzle; many of the apps listed have been deleted or changed long ago!
However its a great help. Cheers!
