Portable apps on USB key with Quick solitaire loaded
When I start the app it puts a logo on the task bar but there is no window opened, you can open further iterations but the same, trying to close the taskbar logo or individual iterations fails but task manager will close them

Please include more details. What install path, what OS version, what version of Quick Solitaire. Have you tried reinstalling or uninstalling/reinstalling? It works without issue here both with and without the platform on Windows 7 and Windows 10 here.

fresh download of Quick Solitaire
I select the USB (F:) from This Computer,
Start PA from F: or open portable apps and start from there,
have tried run QS as administrator and refresh, no change
Starting Quick Solitaire from its own start icon in F:/ portable apps / Quick solitaire is the same
other games work fine
