Yes, asterisk

Yes, in the way you're thinking of the term, it is. Unlike other portable sites, every app here is required to be before being released.

The asterisk is that every single app you run on a PC leaves stuff behind that you can't delete without admin rights due to the way Windows operates. In the system registry, network logs, system logs, and app caches. That's why we don't use the term "stealth", since no apps are actually stealth and using the term without a full explanation of this is either disingenuous or misleading.

hi John T.Haller

hi John T.Haller

well many portable applications do leave empty folders or some files or write/change registry keys
the portable apps MusicScore doesn't it , right?

and now I guess that the portable version is not made by portableapps but by the publischer

about the asterisk , many time is the operation system ,that does create keys
thanks John
sorry for my poor english

Report Bugs

If any officially released apps on our site leave anything like that behind, please post a note about it in the appropriate support forum. It's a bug that will be addressed. Yesterday's Thunderbird release, for instance, added some checks for a couple empty folders left behind when it checks for updates or crashes.

Publisher

Musescore is packaged by the publisher but using our tools. The same rules apply, though. If it's an officially released app in the app directory (by us or the publisher) it has to not leave bits behind other than unavoidable OS-level stuff.
