I'm running PA from a cdrw. Whenever I try running TB or Sunbird I get a messages saying that the apps are running from a read only location. I have used the ini files. Can anyone help?

For both Thunderbird and Sunbird you have to download an additional ini file.
For Thunderbird, the procedure is described here and for Sunbird, it's here.

I overlooked that.
Where did you copy the ini files to?

I copied them to the folders which held the TB/SB portable .exe (the root of each). It's weird cause i did the same for FFP and it worked

I'm guessing it's that something is missing from the INI that's causing it to fail.
Also, nice quote

it's not the ini that has a bug but the Launcher as all the inis look OK.

In the TB and SB INIs, you need to have a SettingsDirectory. It should be equal to Data\settings i.e.
SettingsDirectory=Data\settings
