I have just started looking at this and am thinking that you can't install. You have to own a mac and make a rom from you unit I THINK, haven't gotten too many answers either.
Two sites you might find some info on and links to others are:
i cant seem to get my vmac emu to work, i have got all of the files and what do i have to do once i get to to screen after i draged the image file into the emu?
i am running xp prof
if possible could you please tell me the web site where i could get the file from?
that's a full zip with all the files included.
Unzip then:
drag install 1.image onto Mini vMac.exe, wait for it to ask for a disk, then drag "hfs24M.DSK" onto the window.
It will then install, and just drag the others onto the window as it asks for them!
Enjoy your Mac!
To start your mac after that, always drag the hfs24M.DSK onto the Mini vMac.exe icon.
then find the .exe, there are a couple of them. most of them will not work. 2 or three of them will work and about 2 of them will ask you for a disk immage. at the top of the emulater window, file>load disk image>mini vmac folder> hfms20.dsk>open. and that should do it. there is one .exe that is pre loaded that will work every time with out asking for a disk immage, you have to dig for that one thogh.
Your instructions are the first coherent notes as to how to get the thing to work that I have seen anywhere. I have tried in vain several times to get this to work, and finally had success. Now all I have to do is try to install some of my old apps on it!
from several of the other threads i have seen, people seem to be having trouble with that as well. there is a thread around here that explains it. somewhere around here....... (surfs internet to no avail) hope the installs work!

http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Bit/6458/vMac.html although the rom he mentions does not exist at the moment.
http://myoldmac.net/MacFinder/?cat=19 has links to other emulators for your reading pleasure.
I'll give them a look.
