Eraser Portable is not saving it's settings between sessions.
For example, set it to *not* wipe cluster tips when wiping empty space on a volume. Then close Eraser Portable. When you re-open Eraser Portable, it will have forgotten about that setting. Similar issue with other settings.

This is a bug in the base app. The base app is discontinued and this won't be fixed. You can use the publisher's newer Eraser version which is a .NET rewrite and only kind of portable if you wish. This will eventually be released here but there is no timeline for it.

Thanks. I didn't know it was discontinued. Did you have time to verify it's an upstream issue (I didn't have a chance)? I used the upstream non-portable version years ago, and I don't recall this issue in it... but it was a long time ago.
Also, any recommendations for a similar portable app?
