I know that this is / was in testing in October when John said that he would post a Beta version for testing within the next week (granted "next week" was back in October) does anyone have a solution?

I will try and work on it.
I do know he has a backlog of apps to release, so it might be.

I did take a quick look at it. It dose look easy enough. But time is not on my side. Maybe on the weekend.
Mind you, I do release them, just not on this site. I am part of MiKiCuN's site.
that you don't link to it as MiKiCuN's site has warez on it.

I know.
Place everything from C:\Program Files\Shareaza in appdata My 2nd NSIS app
http://www.mediafire.com/?1iijiagnnjg
So far 6 people have downloaded it, but no one has a response??
- The window "Shareaza respects its users" shows every time.
- Window size is not saved.
Both not so important points.
How can I set the download folder relative to ./Downloads?
But overall works well.
I've tried running the installer from my laptop, which doesn't have shareaza on it, and when I click on the icon nothing happens.
Any Suggestions?
where you see the Portable Shareaza 2.2.5.0 Beta application and the portable and source files, create a folder named appdata and move everything from the Programs\Shareaza contents to this new folder.
It takes the cooperation of millions of people it make the planet a better place, yet it only needs one to screw it up
Weeee!
I tried it for the last week after reading this post. I really would love it portable, I dunno if John is willing to shed some light on when a beta version actually will be released. Because it's been mentioned a couple times now but nothing I know of yet. I know you probally have a very hectic life at times, so I'm not asking for it right now, just a estimated beta release date. Thanks. If possible.

I felt so different without a signature.
I tried following the instructions exactly.
I downloaded the launcher and copied over the files to the AppData directory which I created and when I launched it, it rebooted my computer without warning...
It does this every time I try to launch it...
Something ain't right here...

Is there any way to take that with me? No? Give me 10 minutes... Maybe an hour...

I remember when I tried it it left a couple folders and bunch of registry entries around.

You didn't just use the word "meh" casually did you? Argh, who spread this plague?! Anyways, can someone else have a go at making this app portable? I think John is working on it, but having to roll out all his apps must be killing him. Maybe Ryan might like a go.

Is there still a portable version up anywhere? I love Shareaza!

Hi all,
I have recently heard about a test version of a Portable Shareaza being developed and made available by John Butler (I think it was John Butler) on this site.
I can't seem to reply to the post he made - possibly because the thread is locked, or I don't have enough privileges to send a reply.
If anyone is developing a portable version of Shareaza, I am willing and happy to help them in the development process.
Looking forward to working with you.
Regards,
Dave

Finally:
If no one is in the process of developing a portable Shareaza, I will just look into developing it myself. There are plenty of resources available online - and I imagine that tying all the DLLs and configuration files together into a single directory, using a C development environment or disassembler should not be out of the question for me to do.
Thank you.
Regards,
Dave
