X button & sys tray double click clarifications

Hi, please can I check about the following two points:

a) confirm that the 'X' button, which I read is the close button, is present so that the PorableApps can be closed, without needing to eject a USB stick. Just this seems to be a duplication of the option offered by a right click of the power button - and so am wondering if there is some additional other function/use to the X button.

b) On win 10, the system tray PortableApps icon is requiring a double click to open the menu (rather than the single click I have set for system tray items in general). Obviously this is an extremely minor inconvenience (haha), however I am just wanting to confirm this is how it is, rather than me not having setup things properly.

Thank you!

Right Click to Customize

The right click is so you can customize the left button between Power Off, Eject, or Automatic. Automatic is the default and will be eject on a removable drive and power off on a fixed drive (note that a small percentage of drives will not be detected correctly).

On Windows 10 single left clicking the system tray icon shows/hides the platform without issue for me whether it is shown directly on the taskbar's system tray or in the fly our overflow drawer. Do you have something else on your system that could be interfering?

What is the 'x' for

Thank you, so am I correct in thinking that the 'x'/close is for closing PortableApps without also ejecting the USB stick and/or offering the various Windows shutdown options?

Re the need to double click

Re the need to double click the systray PortableApps icon, first to note that I later found it wasn't everytime that I needed to double click to open, just maybe 50% of the time - however, I have also found that if I untick 'Keep menu visible after starting apps', the issue appears to be resolved.

Thank you Biggrin

Taskbar vs System Tray

I tried it here on Win 10 x64 and I'm able to show and hide in one click with either the system tray (in drawer or not) and taskbar icon. Does only the system tray have the weird behavior for you?

Hi, yes, just the sys tray icon but only when the task bar icon is hidden. I have tested various permutations and it is only this which exhibits the double-click behavior, on occasion.

Hi, I should add that I only

Hi, I should add that I only seem to have the issue described above on the version of PortableApps installed into windows - and seemingly not an a USB installed version. For me however, it is not a problem at all, as I don't need to keep the menu showing...

Added

I've added it to the list of known issues as I was able to reproduce it with both the taskbar hidden and stay visible after starting apps on. It is intermittent and doesn't always happen. https://portableapps.com/node/28593
