Hello community,
I am having some issues with PortableApps when switching my 6TB HDD from laptop to PC.
Basically, I may spend few weeks using a laptop and then switch back to my deskptop. In order to always have the same apps and configs, I am using this hdd but lately I am unable to load any portable app I used on the laptop, or even worse, I can start ThunderBird but the emails and accounts are gone.
My guess is it's not 100% PA fault, or at all, but something related with Windows 10 permissions or something (which I left unchanged since the installation).
Has anyone suffered my same issue?
Thanks for your time!
It's likely NTFS permissions or errors on the drive. Right click the drive in Windows explorer, select Properties, and then the Security tab. You should have Everyone set to Full Control. If not, click Edit and set that up.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
It took a while with so many small files, but at the end it seems that was the problem. Any chance I can prevent this behavior? Otherwise I guess I will just have to do the same every time I switch PC.
Thank you a lot for your quick and effective answer.
