I was in need of some portable blogging software, i found Scribefire plugin for Firefox that also works on its portable version ( awesome! ) but i think this is just a simple solution for my needs, i was looking for something more like Windows Live Writer ( hate Microsoft ) that works as standalone app to keep on my thumbdrive. I have googled Scribefire and theres no standalone version of it... while it is... im using the firefox plugin...

I did a quick search of the extensions for Firefox, and there were several such tools. One, ScribeFire, made it to their recommended DL page.

If you have Firefox Portable, you can add in the extensions. I don't know if any of these extensions negatively affect portability, but from what John has on the support page, it shouldn't.
I love the fact that Firefox can take on so many functions based on the extensions you add - it makes it so much more than a mere browser.

I tried several different blogging tools with my wordpress site and blogdesk was OK but didn't work on my USB device. I even tried stripping the install files and manually tweaking things.. no luck.
I finally found Zoundry. It supports everything I could ask for (image support included)and is FREE! I think it's written in perl so it ran just fine even after the move to another PC. The only querk is that how it saves it's user info. It stores it in a dir based off of the logged in user ID. Log on one PC as user1, log on another as user2 and you'll need to copy the account info over from one to the other for zoundry to remember everything. Since I'm usually using only 2 PCs it's fine for me. Who knows, if enough of you ask, maybe they'll fix that as an option (single vs. multiple user).
