How to speed up load time of PAP?

Hi! I've been an avid user of PortableApps platform for more than a decade now.
The only thing I never liked in it was slow loading time. Is there any way to increase it? Maybe PAP can cache the list of apps and update it in background?
Thanks! Sorry if the solution is very easy Sad

Planned

Caching the app list is planned for a release at some point, but I have not had time to work on it. It's in the list here: https://portableapps.com/node/28593

Good to know!

Good to know!
I assume there is no git for this one (I'd implement it myself and create a merge/push request)?

Not Yet

There's isn't yet. I'm going to move it to github at some point but I want to create a full tree going back to the first release for it. You can snag the source from the link on the PA.c Platform download page.

Any update on the Git Move?

I would love to see it on a Git, it's just so much easier to request changes, and (for the more tech savvy of us) submit PRs to the project. I really feel if more people could help collaborate on the platform, PortableApps could skyrocket in capability and popularity.

I love this platform, and I want to help contribute if I can, but not having it on some sort of Git, be that GitHub, GitLab, etc. just kinda puts a damper on contributions.

I use this thing every day, it's a GREAT IT Tool box, just throw some diagnostic tools and installers in the PortableApps folder, and you're off to the races. I would LOVE to help improve the tool and make it even better for everyone.

Still Planning

I'm still planning to. Life just got a bit busy (deaths, illnesses, taxes, etc).
