I think I'm gonna try and make a portable version of Tile World
Once I heard someone request the old Chip's Challenge game, I really wanted to have it portably. And it was a simple game, so I could have just made a launcher for it for myself, but I couldn't release it because it's not free or open source.
So tonight, I found an open source alternative called Tile World, you can read more about it here. It's basicially just a clone of Chip's Challange, and it's pretty good too. I've checked and can't find it it saves settings or anything anywhere, and I don't think it would save settings, because there really is none, all I've found so far is it saves the game intro or something like that in its own folder named "save".
So yea, would anybody else want to have this portabally, or no? I'd appreciate some suggestions. The guy did a great job making it, make the wav files from scratch too. Check it out.

And could someone please let me know if they find the offical download, all I can find is the source
For the download, at the very top on their website theres a 4 links 2 linux source downloads and 2 windows binaries...one includes some of the open source level sets the other doesnt. or just below those is a link to the downloads page and there's an installer and a zip available in the Windows section

Thanks, I saw that but kept downloading the wrong one. Would you like to have this as a portableapp?

I just downloaded it and tried it out...didnt get very far in the 3 minutes i played, but the guy did a great job cloning chips challenge, and for anybody that actually owns that game, they can import the original chips levelset. there's others available specifically for this game. I think it would make a great portable time waster for the 4 hr gap i have between classes

Lol. Who doesn't love a good time waster.
So you can import the level set?
I didn't even think of that. That's cool.

If i read it correctly, its right in the info for TileWorld
"Please note: Tile World is an emulation of the game engine(s) only. It does not come with the chips.dat file that contains the original level set. This file is copyrighted and cannot be freely distributed. The chips.dat file was originally part of the MS version of "Chip's Challenge". If you have a copy of this version of the game, you can use that file to play the game in Tile World."

It's one in the morning. I didn't really read much about the game. Gimme a break.
