Could you recommend a good note taking app (like Obsidian)?

Today, a friend from Denmark told me about Obsidian. But because I wanted a portable app, I first tried something called Joplin. I didn't know Joplin supported HTML like , and I was frustrated that I couldn't make additional line breaks, so I switched back to Obsidian. I learned Obsidian allows HTML. Then I spent a few hours trying to make Obsidian portable. I made it portable using a .bat launch file that someone had created. But I couldn't really pin the .bat launch file to the taskbar. I mean, I could. I could create a .bat shortcut and then add cmd/ c to the beginning of the "target". But anytime I clicked it, it would open the program with an extra taskbar icon at the end of my taskbar icons. So, fine. I'll just deal with it. But then I learned that I can't have two notes with the same name (01) Tasks List, even if the notes are in different folders. So I tried Joplin again. Joplin lets you have two notes with different names, and it is portable. However Joplin requires a separate panel to see the notes. The notes aren't listed under each folder. So I uninstalled Joplin too. I am now going to try Cherrytree on PortableApps. Do you have any recommendations on similar PortableApps apps (or even non portable ones)?

Nevermind. I tried

Nevermind. I tried Cherrytree and it seems to be really excellent. I'm liking it a lot so far.
