I have a problem with the portable version
"BPBiblePortable_0.5.3.1.paf.exe" under Windows 7.
The home screen goes up, then no program launch.
If I install the version: "bpbible-0.5.3.1-setup.exe".
I have no problem with the PBBible software.
The problem comes from the portable version that does not work with
W7. Even if I change the compatibility of the exe with lower versions.

It works on a clean, fully updates Windows 7 32-bit virtual machine for me. Please open up the BPBiblePortable\App\BPBible directory and run bpbible.exe directly. This will run it in local mode but allow it to show the suppressed error message.
I am on a Windows 7 64-Bit, the PC is up to date.
I had tried to launch directly the application
bpbible.exe in the folder BPBiblePortable\App\BPBible.
Without result!!! No error message!!!
I have just replaced the file bpbible.exe by the file
bpbible.exe which is in C:\Program Files (x86)\BPBible.
This works by running BPBiblePortable.exe or by running
bpbible.exe in the BPBiblePortable\App\BPBible.
The problem comes from the portable version exe in the
BPBiblePortable\App\BPBible.
I can confirm that the portable version they are hosting (and I am linking to) differs from the local install. I'm still unsure why the portable one is not working on your machine but works without issue in my clean virtual machine.
After replacing the exe, are you sure it's working portably and not storing locally? Is your machine fully updated?
I tested in Windows 7 64-bit in a clean virtual machine and it worked there, too.
Also, please open up the file appinfo.ini within the BPBiblePortable\App\AppInfo directory and let me know if the DisplayVersion has the word Fixed at the end of it. It should read DisplayVersion=0.5.3.1 Fixed
For the PC : KB the list is long, C++ 2013 2017, .Net 4.8
I deleted the BPBible version in C:\Program Files (x86)
It works by running BPBiblePortable.exe or by running
bpbible.exe in the BPBiblePortable folder with
bpbible.exe of the non-portable version.The AppInfo.ini file
