corrupted files
What exactly do you do?
If you only copy your Mail files, there may be some problems. I would copy the whole ThunderbirdPortable folder to my hdd for backup and keep using the USB copy of it. So I basically only copy the files to back them up but not copy them back.
If you copy the whole ThunderbirdPortable folder to your hdd, use it there, delete the "old" copy on the USB and then copy it back from the USB to the HDD it shouldn't be a problem at all cause all the files are contained in that one folder.
