I want to run FirefoxPortable and FirefoxDevPortable at the same time but when I try to start the second browser it says Firefox is already running.
Is it in any why possible to run both at the same time?
It is possible to run FirefoxDevPortable and then start an normally installed Firefox instance. So it is possible to run 2 Firefox at the same time, but I want to run 2 Portable version of Firefox.
If you open up the Firefox Portable help by right-clicking in the PA.c Platform and selecting Help (for non-platform users, open the FirefoxPortable folder and open help.html) you'll see a link for details on configuring the launcher. That link will explain how to copy the example FirefoxPortable.ini from Other\Source to the FirefoxPortable directory and edit the AllowMultipleInstances parameter to let you run more than one. You'll need to do this for both copies. Note that it will leave non-personal data behind.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks alot, it worked
One question; "Note that it will leave non-personal data behind". What kind of non-personal data is left behind and where, that is not left behind when AllowMultipleInstances=false?
For others, how to do it.
- create an file namned FirefoxPortable.ini in the same folder as FirefoxPortable.exe
- In the ini file, copy or write:
[FirefoxPortable]
AllowMultipleInstances=true
- copy the ini file to the same place fot the other FirefoxPortable instance too.
I run one google account in each FIrefox Portable, to not mix data of each one and be related, if I enable multiple instances will it share cookies or something?
Can I still do what I want to do (keep each account separate) if I run multiple instances?
I noticed that my instances have updated to version 120 and it is currently not working at the same time together, this annoying problem seems to have appeared since version 117.
I can't find a way to downgrade its version
Thank you very much for all your comments.
