hi
may i know if i can download and use fonts in libreoffice portable without installing ?
i have downloaded for some tests several fonts from dafont dot com , i guess they are pretty safe and i have copied in several folders of libreoffice
but it doesn't read or detect them
For users not using the PortableApps.com Platform, you can add additional fonts to the LibreOfficePortable\Data\fonts folder for use with LibreOffice here. (Do not add fonts to the LibreOfficePortable\App\DefaultData\fonts folder or to the LibreOfficePortable\App\libreoffice\Basis\share\fonts\truetype folder)
Note that any fonts placed here will be available to other applications. If any other apps (including local apps) are making use of these fonts and don't properly stop when LibreOffice Portable is closed, you may be unable to eject your drive until you close those apps.
i have copied here
LibreOffice\App\DefaultData\fonts\
LibreOffice\Data\fonts\
with any luck
well , could i use downloaded fonts without installing in libreoffice under w7 and w10 ?
and if yes how?
thanks
Please read the quoted text you pasted in. You placed it in the directory it tells you not to.

Hi John
I read the quoted text , but for me it's not clear , english is not my native language , for what i understand:
i use several portable apps but separately , i don't use PortableApps.com Platform so i copied the fonts in this folder
LibreOfficePortable\Data\fonts folder
but writer doesn't detect any new fonts, restart many times , it doesn't show any new fonts
ps just copied some fonts in the folder LibreOfficePortable\Data\ -> nothing
searching in the libreofficeportable i have found this fonts stored in several folders LibreOfficePortable\Data\
opens___.ttf 203 KB (207.992 byte)
i have copied this fonts
i have tried right now copying these files
Racing Catalogue.ttf
Supertalls Italic.otf
Supertalls.ttf
Supertalls.otf
Fautisma.otf
Lets Coffee.ttf
Orange Days.ttf
nothing
thanks
Are you starting LibreOffice Portable by running LibreOfficePortable.exe directly?

Hi John
yes i start running it directly LibreOfficePortable.exe or LibreOfficeWriterPortable.exe
I use almost only writer
thanks
I justed tested and it's working here. With LibreOffice Portable closed, I downloaded racing_catalogue.zip and extracted Racing Catalogue.ttf to LibreOfficePortable\Data\fonts (this is the correct directory). I then ran LibreOfficePortable.exe and clicked on Writer. Racing Catalogue was in the list of fonts. Are you sure LibreOffice Portable is entirely closed (all instances, Writer, Calc, etc) when you copy the fonts in?
