Win 10 x64
I have to do the workaround via SyMenu and it only works when I install ONLY the 64Bit version. (in SyMenu you may choose the version)
I would like to have it in PortableApps. - Doesn't work.
Edit:
It always does to choose the 32Bit version, though I have the 64Bit OS.???
I know the problems registering portable software, but normally, this is no problem.
Associate filetypes by ending does work, but this is not a workable workaround to 35 manual jobs...
even then it falls back to any before registered windows stuff...
any help?

Iranview Portable is a 32-bit only app as there's not much call for the 64-bit version for an image viewer. We did have one other person request the 64-bit version for batch conversions (it'll result in a few percent speed increase) or working on huge images. It'll add about 64MB to the install size, more than doubling it. If enough folks are interested for the reasons above, I can switch it up.
EDIT: I added in 64-bit. Note that I don't know if file associations will work and they won't be supported directly from the app.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
But the only way I could solve this, was to do it within SyMenu and to select ONLY the 64Bit Version, not the 32Bit Version!!! (Within a 64Bit WinVer)
Just to help you.
I really don't understand how you estimate between or how to within your installer - how to differentiate between 32 or 64 Bit.
Ideally the script should use the right Bit-format, but it doesn't. Seen by this program in perfect.
I don't give up hope...

No, it is not.

It is just not about the maximum size of a picture, that you can load or edit.
it is a problem how to get images associated within a win64 system to a portable programm.
I hope to clear this now.
Did you manage to get gfx .endings to associate with irfanview?
I don't get it.
If you do, please let me know,

I was saying that IrfanView Portable (from us) is a 32-bit only app. Not that the base IrfanView is. Although that's "was" now as IrfanView Portable from PortableApps.com is now a dual mode app with both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions included, automatically using the correct one on each PC.

But that seems to be the problem I wanted to tell you.
I know about the switch the installer does but it seems (I might be wrong) in the case of IrfanView especially it doesn't seem to work.
I've tried it on several systems. In runtimes it seems to use the 32Bit version, though it was installed (or copied from) on a 64Bit WinVersion.
I then do registering (associate) GFX Files within Irfanview. - It never worked. Windows always switches back to associate it with its own delivered soft.
My workaround is to switch to SyMenu's IrfanView.
There i can explicitly only install the 64Bit version and everything then works fine as it should be - to be as a small, fast image viewer.

It is running the 64-bit version in the new Rev 2 release. You can check in Help - About. The launcher process, IrfanViewPortable.exe, is 32-bit so it can run on every machine and automatically select the right version of Irfanview.
If you'd like to use the internal file registry and not have our portable version reset it after, just grab the ZIP version from the publisher here: https://www.irfanview.com/64bit.htm
Create a new directory called IrfanViewPublisher within your PortableApps directory and unzip it there. Then refresh the PA.c Menu (Apps - Refresh or just hit F5). It'll show up. Then you can use the publisher version which isn't quite as portable just as you would with less portable platforms.
