Some portable apps run fine with standard user accounts like putty. But wincdemu has a uac admin credential popup to allow "this app [from an untrusted publisher] to make changes of your device."
For apps like that, it would be useful to know, have them tagged, and be able to filter by that attribute.
I tried to run some of these apps with the runasinvoker command, but they usually require drivers or something so they can't be ran as a standard user.

Certain system utilities require admin when Windows itself does. In the case of anything creating a drive letter, it requires admin at the Windows level. You can't change that by trying to limit the rights with runasinvoker or similar. Uninstallers and certain task managers will require similar. Regular apps aren't permitted to require admin to run to be eligible for our directory/platform. The admin requirement is usually indicated on the app's homepage but there is currently no way to filter by it in the platform.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
