We're in need of some folks running Windows 7 64-bit on hardware to test Greenfish Icon Editor Pro Portable's Modern version. By default, the current release is set to deliver the legacy version to Windows 7 64-bit users as it won't work unless feature level 10_1 of DirectX 11 is available. At the moment, I can't test for that in code but am working on it. I also can't actually test if the app works or not as I don't have a hardware install of Window 7 64-bit. The virtual machine drivers don't have that feature level so the app crashes.
To test, download GFIE Portable but don't run it yet. Open up the GreenfishIconEditorProPortable\App\AppInfo\Launcher directory. Within there, edit the file GreenfishIconEditorProPortable.ini. Change the second line from ProgramExecutable to ProgramExecutable64 and the third line from ProgramExecutable64 to ProgramExecutable64. This will switch Modern and Legacy causing Modern to run on Windows 7 64-bit. Before running, click Start and type dxdiag in the search box. You should see dxdiag.exe. Click that. Say Yes to checking for signatures. Click the Display tab. On the right under drivers, you should see a Feature Levels entry. If 10_1 or greater is listed, GFIE Modern should run.
Now try running the app to see if it works. Please report back if it works for you and what feature levels are listed.
When done, to switch it back, perform the same steps above, but this time change the third line from ProgramExecutable to ProgramExecutable64 and the second line from ProgramExecutable64 to ProgramExecutable64
Thanks!
