where are the trully portable files?

really... where are simple .zip files?^
as if having "installers for portable" (which is nonsense on its own... but tolerated while it was optional, which does not seem to be anymore) but who was the [slur removed by mod JTH] person that tought it was a good idea to make the installer automatically select between 32bit and 64bit?

so now its impossible to "install the 32bit" on 64bit windows?????

really.. i dont think it can get any more dumb than that luls...

Detailed, Forum Guidelines

The rationale and advantages for PA.c Format are outlined here: https://portableapps.com/about/what_is_a_portable_app#whypaf

If you want to always use the 32-bit version of a specific app like Firefox, Thunderbird, and SeaMonkey, there are options detailed here: https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#32and64

For other apps, please post the specific app and reason and we'll try to figure out a workaround for you. We only bundle the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of an app when there are specific reasons for it.

Lastly, I removed a slur from your post. Please familiarize yourself with our site and forum guidelines. If it happens again, your account will be suspended.

so when you dont bundle 32bit

so when you dont bundle 32bit and 64bit... then you just bundle the 32bit one right? as it works on both 32bit and 64bit?
and no i dont want an workaround...
the site turns useless when its better to just download tne regular 7zip 32bit (because you have to install it anyway) and copy to the pendrive... than actually using a portable that forces one to use an .exe... making impossible to put those on pendrive outside windows...

i dont need anything from here... as usual because people always keepng making stuff worse and worse...but when my friend mentioned... that idiotic behavior... i had to confirm and request a fix, because really... you know how pathetc that is lol.

32-bit vs 64-bit

For the vast majority of apps, we only bundle the 32-bit version. The 64-bit version is also included when required (system apps with drivers or different things that will only work on one vs another) or when it unlocks additional features or noticeably improves performance but doesn't increase install size disproportionately (Notepad++ opening really large files, 7-Zip getting about a 9% speed improvement, etc).

You can extract most apps using 7-Zip as the installers use standard LZMA encryption. Note that this isn't a supported setup. An initial install will usually be unaffected by an extraction but upgrades will sometimes break. For many apps, you can remove the 64-bit version and the 32-bit one will work. It's best to run it at least once in 32-bit mode, though, as many apps will move some files between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions to save space (localization files, themes, etc).

You're free to use less portable zipped files directly from the publisher if you'd like. PA.c Format is designed to be simple and easy to use and work well on all machines. PA.c Installer works fine on Linux under Wine. It's regularly tested on Pop_OS/Ubuntu and ReactOS.

and the proper response

and the proper response should be... "extract the installer with 7zip" and grab the 32bit version from inside... but really the installer if theres both should ASK which one to install independent of the target... forcing 64bit without necessity on windows is just PLAIN WRONG..

and yes the 7z portable installer is always installing the 64bit one.

It depends on the software.

It depends on the software. A compression software performs various operations to compress/uncompress a file, if you are using a 64bit version on a 64bit system the operations will be much higher. PA.c includes both versions for the simple fact that the Launcher will be used on both 32bit and 64bit systems. It is the launcher that will run the most appropriate version according to the system in use. I must admit that I too have not received appropriate treatment from the managers of this site, in any case insulting is never the solution.
