Here is how to get gimpshop portable working.
* install gimpshop
* script fu crashes on my XP SP2 system so ! remove ..\ \lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\script-fu.exe
* download http://registry.gimp.org/plugin?id=3892 BackgroundWindow ( I am running 3.0alpha )
* then just copy the gimpshop folder Thats it !!

Do you mean the portable version of Gimp...or GimpShop...they are two different things. GimpShop is a rather cheesy attempt to hack an older version of Gimp ( 2.2.8 ) to make it look and function more like Photoshop. It is notoriously buggy.
Exactly, this version is older, very older, and Gimp 2.0 or great is major version.
