I cannot set the homepage.

but every time i open it
it shows two pages:
-a wierd google page with strage code+"portable" in the search box
-http://apps/PortableFirefox/portablefirefox.exe(which redirects to http://www.winplanet.com/)
I cannot fix the problem

Try a base install

Try a base install and go from there. Sounds like your profile is messed up.

Something's up with your computer

or the download is corrupt. I'd say try downloading again and try it on another PC.

Those dont necessarily check the host file...

Best way to make sure is to look at it manually. Youll find it at

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

just open the hosts file in notepad, and see if anything is being redirected.

I'm having the same problem too

I did what you asked in the previous posts and they don't work either. I do have the data file here - data\portablefirefox\profile. What specific file can I edit in here to set my homepage?
