I've already seen some extremely similar apps (but for Android), that I used to run while resting.
According to your username, it looks like you're the developer and/or website owner. Why don't you suggest your apps (For example: The memory Plus one looks useful for old & tired PCs Running Chromium Browsers) here ?

I have a very large disclaimer on the GitHub repository for MemPlus. It reads:
MemPlus was developed as an alternative to paid applications and should not be used. The proper way to manage your memory if you're running low on it, is to buy more RAM. Also, don't fall for these paid memory optimizers that will speed up your system by 100000% scams. MemPlus will actually free up your memory, but it might cost you dearly in performance and might cause system instability. Do not use these tools on any essential devices. And we, CodeDead, are not responsible for any damages that this type of software can cause to your system.
This application was created so people would stop buying those paid alternatives. They're not going to make your life any better.
Ergo, I would not blatantly recommend it to anyone, let alone ask someone else to distribute a portable version of it.
You're right, it's causing too much HDD activity and isn't really efficient. RamMap is a nice alternative IMO.
And what about your other apps, like this relaxing music player!?

The other apps are absolutely fine to run. I'm in the process of making most of them portable and cross-platform (windows + linux). Opal is already portable and cross-platform and should run with very little resources for what it does.
Opal is rather bulky though when it comes to the size of the application. About 40MB of the application is made out of a custom Java Runtime, so that users don't need to have Java installed and another 50 MB is filled with audio files. In total the file size is almost 100 MB. An unfortunate side-effect of using local audio files. Streaming the audio files over the web would cause more resource usage in the long run though, because the data would have to be streamed over and over again. So a 100 MB application for 30+ audio tracks isn't that bad.
This thread is located on the "Request Apps" sub-forum. I meant why don't you make your own .PAF app (my first reply ↑↑).
