I've been using Firefox Portable for years and it's been working great. But v111 and v112 both crash on startup. The splash screen shows but Firefox doesn't start.

Is there another Firefox browser running? Or another Firefox-based browser running as firefox.exe?
If not, what happens when you try running the contained firefox.exe within FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox64 in local mode by double clicking it directly?

If I start FirefoxPortable v112 with another instance running a window opens telling me to close the other instance.
When I double click firefox.exe v112 after closing the other instance, v112 does not start.
Please try a reboot and then a fresh install to your Desktop directory keeping the directory name as FirefoxPortable. That will help rule out Windows oddness and most permissions issues.

I rebooted and installed to my Desktop. Launching FirefoxPortable.exe shows the splash screen but Firefox doesn't open. Double-clicking firefox.exe doesn't open Firefox.
Do you have another Firefox on this machine? Is this a corporate/university/etc machine with a group policy setup to only permit Firefox to run from Program Files?

I have Firefox 110 which runs fine outside of Programs Files. Previous versions worked too. The problem started with v111.
There have been no changes on our end between 110 to 111. I just ran Firefox Portable 112 on two different Windows 10 22H2 x64 machines without issue. The copies of Firefox (32-bit and 64-bit) within Firefox Portable are unmodified from Mozilla's official files, so if you can't run them directly, it's something to do with your PC, though I'm not quite sure what it might be. What language is your OS and the Firefox you're trying to run? Any antivirus other than Windows Defender?

The OS and Firefox is English. I have antivirus but disabling it didn't help.
