I'm working on getting wire transfers working for as many folks as possible. One thing brought up is folks who use QR codes in the EU. I've put together a test one without an amount pre-filled and was hoping some folks in the EU could test it out. You don't need to make a donation, I'm just wondering if the code will work with your banking app and then let you pick an amount. Or if I need to make a few for pre-selected amounts.
Thanks for testing and please let me know your thoughts.

For citizens of the Eurozone: this is an EPC QR code, readable by nearly all banking apps and financial software used in the EU.
On 9 december 2023 and today 2 January 2024 I did the QR-code payment test :
1. The QR image recognised by the bank app as valid: OK
2. Bank app access code entry possible: OK
3. Bank app error message:
"Unfortunately the payment was not successful"
Then I can click 'close', after which I can enter bank details.
I tried a payment of 1 EUR. That doesn't work because the banking app does not know a recipient (= you).
On the other hand, the recipient data (= you) must remain invisible to the payer (= me) due to the EU GDPR privacy law(*)
(*) What is the GDPR? The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European law that established protections for privacy and security of personal data about individuals in European Economic Area (“EEA”)-based operations and certain non-EEA organisations that process personal data of individuals in the EEA.
I assume the QR code image is correct, and that the bank details (for non-EU?) are causing the problem. You may need to place an EU bank account in the underlying QR (via an EU bank in the USA).
Also offer a drop-down list that generates QR images with a fixed EUR amount, so that the payer only has to click OK.
Many pre-purchase EUR donations are, for example: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 EUR.
Conclusion 2 January 2024 : this QR-code payment test is not working.
