OS: Windows 7 x64
Scenario: Upgrade via PA Platform app
It appears that there's no Skype v8.108.0.205, or if there was, Skype pulled it from their website.
I first tried downloading the latest Skype today (11/26/23), via the Platform updater. Error: "The downloaded copy of Skype via sPortabIe (https://go.skype.com/windows.desktop.download) is not valid and can not be installed.
So I downloaded sPortable_8.108.0.205_online.paf.exe, and ran that from the Platform app. (Apps > Install a New App.) Error: "The downloaded copy of Skype is not valid and can not be installed."
I discovered that on the Skype website, the version available for Windows is Skype-8.107.0.215.exe.
So I changed the current PA download URL (for v8.108.0.205) to the following: (removed)
And found that sPortable_8.107.0.215_online.paf.exe was still available.
I ran that from the Platform app, as above, and it successfully installed/upgraded Skype.
Looks like the publisher reverted to the earlier version. I've done the same so downloads are working again from the site and platform.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
