I use the platform on onedrive successfully on a pc and have the onedrive app installed on my iPad.
Can anyone advise on the steps I need to take to use the platform on my iPad?

Those are Windows Programs. They don't work on Mobile OSes. Unless you find an emulator like (the phone's) DosBox that runs MS-DOS programs on mobile phones.
