I can install, update, and scan on Windows 7, 10, and 11. After I exit, all traces are removed. Please include the full details including: "system details (OS version, 32 vs 64-bit), install path, new vs upgrade, etc" as well as steps to reproduce.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Maybe I should have started a new thread, but after running Spybot - Search ad Destroy last time, the software updated itself with a "Spring Clean 2026" update. Now when I reboot my machine, ad advertisement window for "Spybot + AV" comes up, and there's a "SpybotSpringCleanup26 (32-bit)" process running.
This task is running out of my PortableApps install folder: C:\Users\username\PortableApps\SpybotPortable\App\Spybot\Include
It's not causing me any grief, but I thought I'd mention it and give you a chance to ask for details before I take any actions to remove it.
This is a separate issue from that mentioned above. I can confirm your issue with a recent update. If you check the box not to notify you again and click OK it won't. I'm working on an updated package to address this.

This is fixed in today's release
