i copied the portable thunderbird directory to my desktop, formated my thumbdrive and copied the directory back onto the thumbdrive thinking that this would work. well, it worked except for one minor detail. at the bottom of the thuderbird email screen (under the bottom bar that displays "Unread: 0 Total: 0") i have code in red text.
----^
Can someone please tell me how to remove this?
Thanks.
do you have?
No matter which one you have, you can always download a fresh copy and unpack it right over the existing one to make sure everything is alright with your copy.

I deleted ThunderbirdPortable\App\thunderbird\chrome\offline.manifest and it works, but what is that file - do i need it for something else - is it important?
Thanks.
Sorry, I have no idea what that file was... I only know that several other people had the same issue. Doesn't seem to be important, so I assume it is regenerated by the app as needed, but that's a pure guess!
I get the same display of code and I ,so far, have been unable to remove it surely something is wrong. Please help with a solution
