7Zip Favourites Don't Work

Not sure this has ever worked properly. If you save a favourite it saves, but when you close and re-open 7zip all the favourites are gone.

Working Here

I launched 7-ZipPortable.exe, browsed to a random folder on C:, bookmarked it, closed 7-Zip, launched again, and it was still there. Please "include system details (OS version, 32 vs 64-bit), install path, new vs upgrade, etc." Please also include the path you are bookmarking.

Info

Sorry for the delay John. Options also don't work for me, in fact nothing saves.

I have Windows 11, 64 Bit. The portable app is stored on my removeable/portable drive Q.
Q:\Portable-Software\7-ZipPortable

It doesn't matter what I try and bookmark it never saves. Favourites and options are wiped after I open / close. I have tried to bookmark the desktop path, a path on the C drive and a path on the Q drive and they all get wiped after the restart.

I'll try wiping 7-Zip from the portable drive and re-adding it again, maybe something got corrupted. I have no problems with any other software on the Q drive.

Success

Hi John, ok I have wiped it from the Q drive and re-installed it and now it works fine. Weird. If I ever find out why this happened I'll let you know.

I compared the the reinstall to my backup drive and the only difference is I originally set the temp dir inside the current directory, so there are temp folders inside the 7zip install. I did revert it back to use the system temp folder, but the 'temp' folders remain. Not sure if that has something to do with it?

Sorry about that, all good now. Have a great weekend.

All Good

It's all good. It's likely there was a file/folder that was corrupted or had odd permissions set on it.
