Code::Blocks

Code::Blocks for portable development of C/C++ programs...something I really would find useful ^_^, or any other simple IDE for that matter. Programmer's Notepad would also be good.

The launcher? No, I wrote

The launcher? No, I wrote that. Dev-C++ itself is, I think, abandoned.

Dev-C++ is very buggy

Check out Source Forge Dev-C++ site and click on bugs reported. I have used both and I personally think Code::Blocks is way superior. It is a shame Dev-C++ was abandoned because it was starting to shape up to be a great tool. Dev-C++ hasn't been updated since 5.0 beta.

PLEASE SOMEONE MAKE "CODE::BLOCKS" PORTABLE.

I agree on Code::Blocks

Dev C++ is nice, but it doesn't allow the use of template classes, which was a necessary feature for my c++ course at school. Code::Blocks worked for templates, and in Code::Blocks it is easier to incorporate other compilers such as MSVC or Borland.

As for the text editor, use the search feature in these forums and look for Scite Portable or Notepad++ Portable, or Notepad2 Portable.

Definitely...

...this is something I'd really like to see become portable. Man, do I wish I understood this stuff more. Otherwise, I'd just make these things portable myself.
