I cannot remove the splash screen on the VLC player.
I have tried the instructions on the link below and have copied the file to the main folder where the VLC executable file is located and it still doesn't work.

I copied AppNamePortable.ini from VLCPortable\Other\Source to VLCPortable and renamed it to VLCPortable.ini. Then I opened it up in Notepad++ and changed the line from DisableSplashScreen=false to DisableSplashScreen=true and saved it. Then I ran it and it started without the splash screen. Did you follow those exact steps? Did your text editor change the file from ANSI with Windows CR LF to another encoding / line end format?

No I did not try those exact steps. I only changed the DisableSplashScreen to true in AppNamePortable.ini and copied it to the main page.
When I made the change to DisableSplashScreen I used the regular Windows 11 Notepad but I left the file extension the same.
Should I use another text editing software instead such as Notepad++?
Did you rename the file from AppNamePortable.ini to VLCPortable.ini after copying it to the VLCPortable directory?

That was the problem. I didn't rename the file after copying it
After renaming the file, it worked.
