Hi John,
yesterday I have launched LibreOffice 24.8.2.1 by PortableApps and, after few moments, the program automatically update to new version (24.8.3.2 of November 27, 2024).
I have browsed this update and I was not satisfed, so I have deleted LibreOffice already updated, disabled internet connection and then reinstalled the 'old' version 24.8.2.1.
I have investigated and I have seen that, by default, recent Libreoffice builds have a tick in:
--> Tools --> Options --> Online Update --> Automatic Updates --> ticked !
Finally I have unticked 'Automatic Updates' then reenabled internet connection.
So I ask You for next LibreOffice Portable release (ver. 24.8.3.2), please install portable build in your test environment --> untickes Automatic Updates --> then rebuild Portable version.
Thank a lot.
It must have been enabled by error.
Unchecked out here. An old installation that had been updated several times manually.

Happened to me in march 2025 with the same version, v24.8. It upgraded to v25.2.
I haven't tried to determine whether the upgrade is still portable.
I do not think I ever even opened Tools - Options and no one else uses this PC. So I really don't think I set it that way. Whatever it was i twas not intentional.
However, thinking about it, I did have installed version of LibreOffice v7.something, v7.5 I think, existing on the PC when v24.8 portable was installed. The v7.5 installed variant may have installed with auto-updates on by default. I wonder if the portable version is reading the same registry key and thinking it needs to auto-install?
I just downloaded today (03/31/2025) v25.2.1.2 x86 from this website and installed on a new PC which did NOT have any previous LibreOffice installed and the first thing I did was check tools - options - online update - Enable automatic updates and it was CHECKED. By default upon initial install.
