Automatic Desktop changer

good morning and happy new year, i've already search on site and forum, about the option for automatic change of desktop wallpaper integrated on suite, but it does'nt work and the chats on forum about this option are very old, the right procedure is: I put a BMP image in IMAGE FOLDER in the PORTABLE APPS PROGRAM, and rename " portableapps_wallpaper.bmp " and put inthe image folder but it does'nt work !!!!! i've tried many times.... in 2025 with windows 10 and 11 this method can work properly or not ? Thanks very much

Rename or convert?

Hi, happy new year!

I've tried the procedure described in https://portableapps.com/comment/55200#comment-55200 in a Win11 computer and it worked fine.

When you said you "rename 'portableapps_wallpaper.bmp'", do you mean you renamed only the name of a previous BMP file or you changed the extension as well?

Further explaining: if you have a picture.jpg file and rename to portableapps_wallpaper.bmp, it won't work. You have to convert the jpg file to bmp format first (using XnConvert, XnView or XnView MP, all available in this site, or other program you prefer).

After converting to BMP format, you can save or rename to portableapps_wallpaper.bmp.

(Sorry if I explain too much, it's my TI teachering tendency and I ask you to not think I'm assuming anything about your computer skills.)
