Can the history still be tracked?

On a corporate pc, can the browser history still be logged (by IT) if one uses portable firefox? If so, how likely is this to happen?

Well...

If your corporate internet connection is going through a proxy server, then it's likely the proxy could log your browsing activity. Otherwise, I don't think anybody's going to find your history, as it'll be stored on your USB device.
