I decided to learn NSIS scripting for the first time today. It wasn't too bad. So I created yet another PidginPortable moonshine...
While I did most of the modifications myself, some elements are from dcaravana's PidginPortable. I decided to be fairly complete in replacing mentions of Gaim with Pidgin. This took a fair few hours...
Anyway, additional features include the actual installer source and a slightly more comprehensive (or verbose, if you will) installer. To build the installer yourself (see build.txt), you must run the installer to extract the files, then compile the NSIS script to package the files into an installer program. I know, this is weird.
Edit: Fixed "Portable Pidgin" typo in installer, brute force for best compression. It should be much smaller now.
Rapidshare: Linky (9395 KB ZIP)
Nice. Nice splash too.
However, what's with all the extra language folders?
Why not make them optional in the installer.

Wow, that signature totally got old.
When the installer shows you some checkboxes (erm, does it?), uncheck the Locales option.
I guess I just fly through the installer and check everything I want unnoticingly lol.
U, still, shouldn't they be in a different directory?

The directory structure is how Pidgin shipped in...
I can't connect with both :S
in screen name i put mi user@hotmail.com
password
and alias.
connect, and report : bla bla... pasport.NET... I CAN'T CONECT :S .. no use proxy .. and i have all configure settings OK , i don't understand it.
However with Amsn i can connect.
I hope that someone can help me..
This is a problem with Pidgin itself. There may be a firewall blocking Pidgin or something else you wasn't aware of (try using Pidgin to connect to another network like IRC), or it could be a Pidgin bug. In which case, too bad.
Here, use this 1

I got this from Nerd in from the post below this 1, it works great, i can get into my MSN account, and i haven't encountered any problems yet.
Not to Hijack a thread, but I just made a zip (tested to work on windows XP home and pro SP2, but will most likely work with others) of pidgin per the FAQ at pidgin.im.
For those interested, just download the zip and extract to your thumbdrive, and voila, you have pidgin portable!
