Amazing you cleared the first 20 rows. You must have had some time on your hands, huh? I normally dig straight down, at every 500 feet (I think) you get a large bonus in money!
edit: Yay! I finally beat Motherload! If anyone plays it to the end they will like it, 1 million cash + artifacts + a very high score (mine was over 2 million)!
