I found it incredibly difficult using it on Windows NT.
I'm getting a massage "portable.exe" caused an error and will be close" something like that.
Is there any other way I can use it on Windows NT?

You could try the 1.0.1 update. 1.0 had a bug that only worked on XP/Vista. It's mentioned on the page. In theory, it should work on NT. I don't have it installed to test.
