Firefox is being updated by another instance

I´m using Firefox Portable 138.0.1 Updated from PortableApp on May 05
O.S. Widows 10 Home S.L. Spanish

I want to choose when to install updates from PortableApp, but my Firefox updates automatically, and cannot change that in Tools.
When I try it shows "Firefox is being updated by another instance" . I have not idea of which "instance" is updating my Firefox.

When I try to select: "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" shows:

Could not write to file: C:\ProgramData\Mozilla-1de4eec8-1241-4177-a864-e594e8d1fb38\updates\FirefoxPortable\update-config.json

There is a folder in C:\ProgramData\Mozilla-1de4eec8-1241-4177-a864-e594e8d1fb38 with many subfolders and files
but the previous is a non existing one.

There are other two folders in:
C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Mozilla
C:\Users\...\AppData\Roamingl\Mozilla

Thank you for your help

Close and End Tasks

You can't change the option to check for updates while one is in progress. I'd suggest shutting the app down and then fully closing anything leftover in Task Manager.

Do you always run Firefox Portable via FirefoxPortable.exe? If not, it could be running in local mode like via associations of links or HTML files. If not, you can also remove those local folders if you're not using a local Firefox.

You'll need to start Firefox up and select "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" at this point.

If you want them entirely disabled, you can use a distribution policy. Create a folder called distribution within FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox64 (leave off the 64 if you're running on Windows 32-bit). Create a file called policies.json and add the following to it:

{
"policies":
  {
    "DisableAppUpdate": true
   }
}

This entirely disables updates other than when you update it via the PA.c Platform or manually by downloading a new PA.c Format installer.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
