Chrome all data gone

Chrome has essentially reverted to a fresh install.

I opened it yesterday to find that all my extensions had been removed, session gone and this

I don't have or use passphrases

Afterwards, I updated thru the platform. The error message is gone, but data loss remains. Still asking for a passphrase. I assume all previous setting changes have been reversed as well.

Logged In? Chrome getting worse

Are you logged in to Google and have sync setup? If not, you're gonna have a bad time.

https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable#app-notes

As you install Chrome, you'll see this message: "Please note that you MUST sign into Google Chrome with your associated Google account in order to have a fully functional browser when used portably. Unlike other browsers, some components of Google Chrome are locked to a given PC and will be lost if you move from PC to PC including extensions, extension settings and data, homepage and search settings, etc. This is by design of the Google Chrome team."

Users have noticed that Chrome is getting worse now. When used with the command line switch to set the profile location, it no longer saves history even when logged in.

I'm pretty I was. I've used that program for years. I changed nothing from the last time I used it. Never had a problem before.

Log Out and Back In

I'd suggest logging out and logging back in. You could also reset the app by deleting the GoogleChromePortable\Data directory. Back it up first just to be safe. Then log in and it should restore your profile.

This will happen when you move PCs or move the location of the app.

I'm not clear if all the

I'm not clear if all the comments here refer to my issue. I backed up the folder after your comment. I tried deleting the Data directory. That just completes the removal of any data that still remained.

I still don't know what to do with this,

Deleted, Sorry

I deleted it from Outdated Apps before I saw your post here and lost it. Sorry about that.

Try Deleting History

Please try deleting the History file (no extension) within GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile\Default
