New Zealand laws only allow donations to non-profit companies that are registered with the NZ government. PayPal comply with those laws by not allowing those transactions.
If you try any other donation method than PayPal it should work.
Unfortunately, New Zealand law forbids donations to entities that aren't non-profits registered in New Zealand. This means you can't donate to most open source projects via PayPal. It's more "Pay What You Want" rather than a donation, but PayPal has no such distinction. I've made a note on the donation page for the NZ PayPal link.
You can donate via wire transfer using the link next to it or via cryptocurrency. I think you can also send money directly via PayPal to the Developers email address on our Contact Page.
