Hello John, after upgrading chrome portable from 139.x to 140.x, all my extensions fail to load. I tried repairing it on the extension page but did not work. I tried reinstalling it and get the following error: Download error: Could not load javascript 'nscl/lib/browser-polyfill.js' for script. Any help is appreciated. I have downgraded back to 139.x for now and all the extensions loads properly.
What OS version and bit depth are you using? What's the full install path?

It's possible that the 140 version has "killed off" support for Manifest V2-based extensions. "Googlevil" has always been looking for ways to "kill" the extremely useful and most important extension in the world--uBlock Origin--because Google hates Ad blockers that stop their nefarious ways of making lots of dirty money through their "Malvertisements".
However, I just searched and I think there's a way to extend the support for Manifest V2... just for a while longer until they decide to remove it, too. Check this out and see if that solves your problem.
Should that workaround fail as well, then it's time to move on to Firefox or to Firefox-based forks (such as LibreWolf, et cetera)... or maybe give Chromium-based forks (such as Supermium, et cetera) a try since some of them will continue to support Manifest V2 extensions (hopefully).

I am using windows 10 and the install path is C:\Users\me\Dropbox\program.files
I will try the Manifest V2 fix and report back.
Can you give an example of an extension that isn't loading for you?

It seems to effect all the extension. I use ad blockers like AdBlockPlus, NoScript, etc.
I tried the Manifest V2 fix, unfortunately that did not fix the issue. Do you have other ideas or do I have to use another browser? If so, which do you recommend? I use one chrome profile and switches between google accounts, also their password manager.
Temporarily, try a fresh install to your DESKTOP directory, sign in, and then let your extensions populate. It could be that Dropbox corrupted a couple things when syncing.

I tried a fresh install on my desktop and it works. I have my data folder in a cryptomator container and that is causing issues with 140x, but works fine with 139x. Do you know what may have caused it? Only the extension doesn't work but otherwise it works fine.
Unfortunately, it's likely more of a Google Chrome team question than for us. Some apps can't run from network attached storage even when a drive letter is assigned. Chrome 140.x may fall into that for certain things like extensions.

Thanks John, do you know any other browser that supports this? I am stuck with 139x now but would like to get the latest security updates.
