I think I lead to some misunderstanding. Sorry maybe i do again. The thing is actually simple.
IF there is a new version of a program THEN some people test it. (registry, etc.) and tell the rest of the people if a NEW version of the LAUNCHER is needed or not!
IF not we all can update somehow...if not we better wait or our girlfriend finds out that we have some kind of relationship with the girl next door...
My suggestion is to make a thread for updated programs AND/OR you whether need an updated LAUNCHER!

Whenever a new app version is made, John posts that there is a new one, and it also comes with a new launcher.
Of course, the new launcher may the old launcher, but it still pushes the new version.
If it's Beta, it's always listed as Beta.
Or maybe I am not understanding your question.

...so someone posts a entry in the registry so we all don´t have to hope it makes entries or something else.
I mean there is no use for John to make a new launcher if it´s not needed. (which he will never do). But it may will be nice for us to know(!!!) we can still use the (old) launcher for the NEW program version!
It's best to upgrade program and launcher together as they've been verified to work. Also, the new version has been compressed for space (using UPX and 7-Zip) unlike a standard release. Additionally, the installers remove files that may be incompatible from the app itself. All the apps here are up to date with their local counterparts except Gaim (and I'm working on that this weekend).
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
