Can anyone validate that the Notepad++ updates via portable apps were not affected by the China hack?
New: MBox Viewer (Mar 22, 2026), Platform 30.3 (Mar 29, 2026)

The attack was via the Notepad++ publisher's hosting to redirect the built in automatic updater to an alternate location in target attacks. Notepad++'s built in app updater is turned off by default in Notepad++ Portable.
If someone manually turned it on, checked for an update, and then had Notepad++ download and run the installer, they could have been affected, of course.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Cool. I was hoping that was the case, I appreciate the response.
I didn't even know that. Thank you!
