Hi,
(I don't know if this is normal or a bug, and I've wanted to report it for a long time, but I never got around to it...)
I have put the "include the 32-bit versions --> never" since this feature was introduced.
But every time there's an app update (for an app that supports 32-bit architecture), the update window has the “Include 32-bit version” option pre-checked. (As if it were ignoring the option in the main menu...)
Merci,
How are you seeing the option with that checked? When properly updated through the platform, that screen should never appear.

Yes, the option appears and is pre-checked during the update. (It happened again this morning with the TB and FF updates.)
And I’d add that this has always been the case for me... I should have reported it a long time ago... but it wasn’t too bothersome...
(I’ll take a screenshot next time.)

I'm in "automatically" and always have that...

Did you try a fresh installation?

I just installed the current Thunderbird Portable here using those same settings on the right-hand side (automatic / never) and it installed Thunderbird Portable as a 64-bit only portable app without any prompt. When was the last time your rebooted your computer?

(No, it's not the reboot: daily...)
I'll start with a fresh install and let you know during the next update...
Just a question, since I retrieve and copy the profile when I do this.
Could there be a connection if “old data” in the profile comes from older 32-bit versions, or is this completely independent of the launcher's verification system? Because this profile is very old, and although it has been updated over time, it might still retain traces of those older versions...
(I’m asking this because, in fact, the only two apps that don’t take this setting into account are the ones for which I regularly copy/back up the profile: Firefox and Thunderbird...)
The installer doesn't care about the profile in terms of applying the automatic and 32-bit stuff when installing from the app store. Running the installer directly or via the Install a New App option, those options do not apply.

No, a “clean” install didn't change anything!
Three programs are offering me updates with the 32-bit option pre-checked: FF, TB, and FileZilla
For all three, I uninstalled and reinstalled them via the launcher before, but there was no change during the update.
(I just copied/added the profile folder and the xxxPortable.ini file solely for the splash screens...)
If you update them via the Platform's Updater or install via the App Store, there is no prompt. It will install them as 64-bit only automatically. If you run the installers directly without the platform, they'll show up without 32-bit checked on a 64-bit system. If you install them via the Install a new app and selecting the .paf.exe, neither will apply and it's fully manual. The option in the platform settings only applies to the App Store/Updater. It does not apply to manual installs.
